The village of Mesilla is located on NM Highway 28, about 35 miles north of El Paso. Bicyclists frequently congregate at The Bean for coffee and snacks before and after rides. Mesilla is both a popular destination for rides from El Paso and a starting point for rides north to Fort Selden, Hatch and beyond. Rides depart from the municipal building parking lot on NM 28 about one block south of The Bean.
