From March through October, during Daylight Savings Time, riders gather at River Run Plaza for an El Paso cycling tradition - The Wednesday Night Ride. The Wednesday Night Ride is a leaderless ride for cyclists of all ability. Whether you are a racer in training or out for a casual cruise through the valley you will find someone to ride with. The typical ride departs at 6:00pm and heads north on valley farm roads for about 12 miles to Gadsden High School. Turn back at Gadsden or add a few miles by continuing up NM 28, it's your choice. The return route is along NM 28 back to El Paso and River Run Plaza. The first Wednesday of every month is the Pub Ride, we add a stop at La Union Station for a beverage or two before heading back. After the ride cyclists tend to gather on the patio of Hello Pizza in River Run Plaza for dinner and to socialize. Early and late in the season riders will depart around 5:30pm in order to return before sunset.
