Saturday, May 19
-8:00 am: Westside Hills - Meet at Cimarron Park (Northern Pass one block east of Resler). Explore the ups and downs of the West Side, including various “Ridges” and other challenging climbs. 25 miles, moderate pace. To get there, take Resler north past Helen of Troy and turn right on Northern Pass. Blanca Harp, 915-422-2238.

Sunday, May 20
-8:30 am: Northeast Romp - Meet at Christi’s house, 4509 Fairbanks (near Starbuck’s in Northeast El Paso). Ride MLK out to Anthony Gap and back. Return to Christi’s for BBQ lunch (burgers, hot dogs and sodas). Bring your favorite drink. 35 miles, moderate pace. Christi Ruebush, 915-920-7263.

Monday, May 21
-5:45 pm: Monday Training Ride - Meet at Rio Plaza (6205 Upper Valley Rd at Artcraft) for a one-hour hard-core leaderless ride up Artcraft to Border Crossing and back. 20 miles.

Wednesday, May 23
-5:45 pm: Wednesday night ride - Most riders start at River Run Plaza, 1071 Country Club Rd., and ride 20-24 miles through the Upper Valley to Anthony and back. No official leader — find a group that matches your pace. Optional dinner afterward at Hello Pizza; BYOB. Some riders begin at Rio Plaza (Artcraft and Upper Valley); start time there is about 15 minutes later.

Thursday, May 24
-5:50 pm: Beginner/Intermediate Group - 

Road and Safety Hazards

It can be a dangerous world out there for cyclist. This program will teach you how to look out for and avoid many of the hazards that await cyclists on the road. Program starts at 5:50pm and the ride takes off at 6:05pm. All riders should be there at least 15 minutes early. Meet at Rio Plaza at Artcraft & Upper Valley. About the B/IG Program

A program designed for beginning and intermediate cyclists, everyone is welcome to join 2012 B/IG program. If you are just getting into cycling, want to learn more about the sport, or would like to meet new friends to ride with then the B/IG ride is for you. B/IG rides are designed to be both educational and fun. Each week before the ride a different cycling related topic is presented. Topics range from riding in a group to bicycle maintenance and repair. Riding skills are discussed and practiced while out on the ride that follows.



Saturday, May 26
-6:00 am: Early Bird Gets the Balloon - Meet at River Run Plaza (1071 Country Club) at 6 a.m. (yes, 6 a.m.) and ride to Santa Teresa Country Club to watch the hot air balloons take off at the annual Balloon Fiesta. Ride to La Union afterward. 25 miles, very moderate pace — great for B/IG riders! Faster riders can break out for a ride to the border crossing. Bob Clark, 915-204-2531.

Hill Climbing

Do you dread climbing hills? Do you think there is no way you could ever ride over Transmountian? Well put those negative thoughts away because Margaret O'Kelly is going to share her hill climbing secrets with you. After this program you will be climbing hills like a pro and Transmountain will seem like a bump on Highway 28. Program starts at 5:50pm and the ride takes off at 6:05pm.
